Women Roles and Rights
In Judaism, women roles and rights have been misunderstood. In tradition Judaism, they are seen as separate but equal. Women's responsibilities are different from men but no less important. Also, women in Judaism have a greater degree of "binah"(intelligence, understanding) than men. They were "built" in (Gen 2:7). Women of Judaism have held positions of respect since biblical times. Many rabbis at different amount of time would describe women as lazy, jealous, vain etc. Women had the right to buy, sell and own property. They also had the right to make their own contracts , rights which women in Western countries includes America, did not have the right to mistreat their wives or beat them. This was a right recognized by law in many western countries until few years ago.
